Speech Therapy Blog! Meet Jenny!

It has been six years since Exceptional Speech Therapy, Inc. (EST) was founded by Jennifer “Jenny” Osorio, M.S., CCC-SLP, and Alfredo Piedra, Marketing Director (Fun fact: Jenny and Alfredo are a married couple with two beautiful baby girls!). In those six years, the family-owned business has grown tremendously, and continues to grow each day (both internally and externally — watch out for the exciting renovations and expansions taking place right next to the clinic!). Although the business is continually growing, our mission statement has always remained constant: “[T]o provide the most exceptional therapy obtaining the most satisfied clients by having the best educated, passionate, and most caring therapists”.

Jenny Osorio, the President of EST, was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Her family is from Montevideo, Uruguay; a small country in South America made up of 3.5 million people. In 2014, Jenny was inspired to open EST because of her strong desire to build awareness on the importance of speech and language skills. More importantly, she wanted to “enhance communication through natural child led play, in order for our children to build meaningful connections… as, after all, a strong human connection is a key component to a life filled with happiness.”

Jenny possesses renowned skills in the field of speech-language pathology, as she holds the following certifications: The Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based (DIR®/Floortime™) Model approach, “Prompts for Restructuring Oral and Muscular Phonetic Targets” (PROMPT) Training, The Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, and the Beckman Oral Motor Certification. If you’d like to learn more about these approaches and certificates, check out our approaches. Furthermore, she has completed multiple workshops for treating Sensory Processing Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Not only is Jenny an expert in the field of speech-language pathology, but she is also highly skilled in the field of leadership, as she displays relentless work ethic and truly cares about personnel at EST. As a result of her dexterity and passion for helping others, the team has grown to over twenty staff members. Jenny’s vision with EST is “to continue providing first class service to our children, with a combination of evidence-based treatment to meet their individual needs, while still having FUN.”

The described growth at EST is only the beginning, as our newest technological evolution includes a weekly blog. The blogs will encompass a collection of valuable information on topics such as up-to-date research, diagnoses, and interventions; as well as, interviews with specialists and professionals, tips for families, and much more. This blog will serve as a digital space that reflects not only our services, but also provides a place for families and other professionals to reunite, learn, and build on each other’s ideas. We invite you to head on over to our Instagram profile, as well as our Facebook page, to share your valuable ideas and ask questions.

Now more than ever, we want to shine light on our relationships with the families we work with, and let them know that we are in this together. The lovely relationships we have cultivated with families, children, and support systems, are what motivate us to work hard and continue to grow. It is our never-ending goal to offer you exceptional services, both in the clinic and school settings, as well as online via teletherapy. Together, we are an EST family.

We hope that this digital presence will open additional doors for you to get the most out of what we have to offer.

Welcome to this exciting new platform!
